April 2011 Newsletter

Having high program delivery fidelity has been shown to predict significant improvements in parents and children’s behaviors across a number of different evidence-based practices. Current economic climate has caused commissioners and other administrators to consider reducing program sessions for both treatment and prevention program deliveries. For certification of those delivering the Incredible Years program, we have set bar high in order to achieve quality fidelity program delivery and sustainable changes. We believe that high-risk families should receive not only the full dose of the recommended parent programs but also be scaffolded at each developmental phase of their children’s lives, beginning with infancy and through school age years. If such services are provided to these families there is the potential to affect the next generation of parenting.
