Primary Care – Well-Baby Program
Did you know the Incredible Years® (IY) Parent Programs can be offered in a primary care setting? The NEW IY program, “Helping Parents Promote Babies’ Development During Well-Baby Visits” (Well-Baby Program, for short) can be used by primary care providers, health visitors, pediatricians, and other health providers in primary care settings or in the home to support parents with babies from birth to 9 months of age.
This program can be implemented as a supplement to the IY Parents and Babies Program.

Consultation
Be sure to plan for ongoing consultation by phone or in person for new group leaders. Consultation is conducted by certified Incredible Years® Mentors and Trainers. This early support and feedback ensures the parenting groups are delivered with fidelity and are successful. Consultation Fee: $175/hour
The science of child development clearly shows that the foundation for sound mental and physical health is built early in life, as early experiences with parents shape the architecture of the child’s developing brain.
Research
A recently published randomized control group study has screened toddlers (2-4 years) in primary care settings to identify those at risk or with borderline to clinical levels of behavior problems. They were randomly assigned to The Incredible Years® program or a waiting list control group. Results showed improvements in parent-child interactions and child disruptive behavior that were maintained one year later.
