Incredible Beginnings® Program
For group leaders of child care providers and/or teachers working with children ages 1-5 years.
The Incredible Beginnings® program is a program for leaders of teachers and child care providers of children ages 1-5 years old. In this program, preschool teachers and early child care providers are meeting together to discuss and share ways to provide an environment that supports children’s optimal early development (ages 1-5 years). Teaching methods discussed include using social and emotion coaching, nurturing child-directed play interactions using narrated descriptive commenting, proactive teaching with predictable routines and consistent positive behavior management strategies. All of these approaches rely on building positive relationships with children using sensitive and responsive approaches. Incredible Beginnings® Program is run similarly to Teacher Classroom Management Program, in 6 Full-Day Workshops.
What is the difference between IY TCM and Incredible Beginnings Programs?
The Incredible Beginnings® Program is implemented over 6 full-day workshops, and covers the following topics:
- Building Positive Relationships with Toddlers and Managing Separation Anxiety
- Promoting Language Development in Toddlers and Preschoolers
- Social Coaching with Toddlers and Preschoolers
- Emotion Coaching with Toddlers and Preschoolers

CONSULTATION
Be sure to plan for ongoing consultation by phone or in person for new group leaders. Consultation is conducted by certified Incredible Years Mentors and Trainers. This early support and feedback ensures the parenting groups are delivered with fidelity and are successful. Consultation Fee: $210/hour
CERTIFICATION
Group Leaders are encouraged to apply for certification/accreditation, which promotes fidelity to the program by ensuring optimal outcomes. See Certification section for more details and information on pricing.
Incredible Years® Program Video Streaming Now Available!
The Incredible Beginnings® program is now available in online streaming format (available in English only). If you’re purchasing a new curriculum set you have the option to order the full program set with a one-year subscription to the videos streaming online. If you already own the program you have the option to add a one-year subscription to the videos streaming online.

Program Video available in USB Format
Our Incredible Beginnings program is available in USB format. If you’re purchasing a new curriculum set you will have the option to choose either the DVD or USB format. If you already own the program you have an option, for a limited time, to upgrade your DVD set to the USB format. We just ask that the original DVD set be returned to IY along with an upgrade fee of $200.

Carolyn Webster-Stratton gives a key note address in New Zealand about the new Incredible Beginnings® Program. Based on the success of the Incredible Years Teacher Classroom Management Program, she has developed this new program for day care providers and preschool teachers of children ages 1-5 years. In this presentation you will see her explaining the rationale for the program and sharing examples of some of the program’s vignettes as well as ways ways these vignettes can be used to trigger practices and reflective discussions with participants. We hope you will enjoy learning about bringing this program to providers of young children.
